Instructions for Parents & Participants

Clear instructions for parents and participants to ensure safety and fun for all!

Parents are supposed to drop their children at the holding area only.

Participants in the Grandparents Walkathon and Teacher's Run must report to the holding area at the specified reporting time

Marathon is NOT a 100m sprint race. It is test of endurance. Parents are requested to advise their children and to be slow and steady in their pace, and not push themselves, beyond their capacities to finish the marathon in record time, unless the participant is a person who regularly practices for marathons.

Every participant receives a BIB along with 4 safety pins in the goody bags. Participants are required to wear this BIB on the chest in-front of the T-shirt. Failure to pin the Bib as instructed will restrict entry of the participant from the marathon.

A separate BIB with “Parent” printed on it is given only for 1 Parent to join their child during the 2 km run only. No parent will be allowed to run alongside the 3km, 5km and 7km runs.

Failure to report to stage area / holding area on / before time as mentioned in the form will result in non participation in the run. No money will be refunded.

No money will be refunded for any reason whatsoever.

Gathering / crowding at the finish line by the parents is strictly prohibited. Parents are requested to stand on the footpath and not cross the barricade. Announcements regarding collecting their children after the run will be made by the volunteers. Kindly follow the instructions and avoid cluttering near the finish point. Crowding will hamper the race and create a lot of confusion for the participants. After the run, parents can collect their children from the holding area or near the stage area only (announcements will be made accordingly).

Children will not be allowed to go out of the route. Parents are requested to advise their children to stick to the route and follow the instructions of the volunteers at all times. Any help required can be sought for from the nearest volunteer.

First aid is available at all water stations along the routes. Parents should advise their children to seek help at any time during the race, at any of the water stations. Volunteers are equipped to provide first aid for injuries of a non serious nature.

In cases requiring urgent medical attention ambulances will be dispatched to take the injured / unwell child from within the race to a designated hospital nearby. Parents will be informed accordingly by the organisers on the phone numbers provided in the form. Ambulances are placed along the route.

Medical facility comprising of a Orthopaedic doctor and additional doctors are stationed at a booth named “Medical Centre”. “Physiotherapy Centre” is also available at the venue next to the Medical Centre to attend to the participants.

Children are advised not to bring any bags to the venue. There will not be any baggage counters at the venue. Organises of the Bosco Mini Marathon will not be responsible for any loss of belongings of any kind. No announcements will be made in this regard.

After the run children will be directed by the volunteers towards the front of the stage area / holding area.

Parents are required to follow the instructions of the volunteers and security at all times.

All participants will receive a medal certificate and a snack box after crossing the finish line.

Thane District Athletics Association - TDAA is officiating this marathon. The decision of the TDAA officials will be final and binding.
